The Creator and Corruption (Foundations of the Christian Faith 2)
The Creator, Corruption, and Our Enduring Worth
God created humanity with a unique and powerful purpose—to reflect His character and represent His rule. Unlike anything else in creation, we are made in His image, carrying an enduring calling to be like Him in the way we live, love, and lead. From the beginning, God’s design for us was clear, and His intention has never changed, even when humanity chose rebellion.
Sin has corrupted every part of our world—our relationships, our desires, and even the way we view ourselves. Where we were meant to walk closely with God, shame now causes us to hide. Where we were meant to rule with wisdom, selfishness drives us to control and exploit. But even in our brokenness, the image of God remains, a blueprint that sin cannot erase.
Because every person is made in God’s image, every life has value, dignity, and purpose. No one is beyond redemption, no one is a mistake, and no one is too far gone. Jesus, the perfect image of God, came to restore what sin had fractured, showing us what it means to truly live as God intended. In Him, we find the way back to our original design.
God’s invitation is clear: come home. Just like the prodigal son was welcomed back by his father, we are not cast aside because of our failures. The Creator still calls us, the corruption of sin does not define us, and the love of God is greater than our worst mistakes. The question is—will we return to the One who made us in His image?
